My sweet AB

My AB (Aunt Betsy) is so sweet. Even though we could not spend Christmas with her in New Orleans, she still sent a box full of goodies to our house. I got a Le Petit Prince pop up book (The Little Prince- for those of you who don't speak French) and a designer sweater and skirt that can be worn multiple ways. Mom and dad got monogrammed stationary by a local New Orleans artist, monogrammed mugs, French soaps and an international transit guide book (perfect because we love to travel so much and we love public transportation too). Mom also got a beautiful orange ostrich clutch by Rebecca Minkoff. Here is a photo of me in my new outfit, it's a little big but I heard that's how Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen like to wear their clothes too :) Also a photo of dad wearing my skirt as a hat! My AB always picks out the best things and has so much style (She writes a fashion blog called Sass and Seersucker) It's a never ending Christmas! Thanks AB!

My first Christmas

I spent my first Christmas in Washington D.C. with my mom and dad, Aunt Jennifer, Uncle Mike, Meme, Grandpop, and the dogs- Bowie, Sophie and Chloe. Full house! Uncle George, Aunt Cindy and my cousins Garrett, Jordie and Graham came over to Aunt Jenn's house for Christmas eve and we went to church at All Saints (where I was baptized). I got so many presents- a hammer game, a ferris wheel game that rotates eggs, a walker that I push around to learn to walk, a learn to read program for babies (as seen in TV), stuffed animals, books, tons of clothes and plenty of new empty boxes to play with. Meme cooked tons of food all week and mom says she has probably gained at least 5 pounds! We also went to look at the amazing Christmas lights at the Mormon church in Kensington and to the Botanical Gardens on Christmas Day. Anyways, I think I really like Christmas...peace!

Ready for the BCS Championship

Aunt Jennifer gave me one of my Christmas presents early, an LSU Tigers fleece onsie. This is actually more of a present for mom because she is so crazy about LSU football. She wants me to wear this costume everyday until the BCS Championship on Jan. 9th! I'm ready though...Geaux Tigers!

Staying up late in Madrid

In Madrid, people wake up early, have a long lunch, take a nap, go back to work and have a late dinner. This is me at dinner at 10pm which is my normal bedtime! I heard the food was amazing...

I am so sick!

Think I caught something on the airplane from New Orleans. I'm sneezy and coughing and with a runny nose! But even though I feel terrible, I am still smiling and talking and playing happily.

Sponge bob square pants

Dad picked out these awesome Sponge Bob pajamas for me in New Orleans. Even though we heard that Sponge Bob was a mindless cartoon for children to watch and it makes us super hyper, we still think the PJs are really cute.

Tree time

Today we went to get a Christmas tree for my grandma. This is my first Christmas and my first tree. Daddy tied the tree to the roof of the rental car and we drove carefully back to grandma's house to decorate. Daddy wants to make the house look like a Christmas Spectacular. I cannot wait!

Animal house

I love all my pets. I have two cats, a dog and a snake. This is my cat Aussie. He just had a birthday on Halloween but we don't really know how old he is. He likes me to jump on top of him and smother him. I also sometimes grab his tail and bite on it, but I only have my two bottom teeth so it doesn't really hurt him. I'm also very curious about his claws and like to touch them with my fingers. Aussie is the best kitty ever. He is loving and patient and soft.

Grandma's 4th of July Weekend

Boy, has it been an event filled weekend. We did sooo much these past four days because grandma came to visit. She flew in all the way from New Orleans and stayed from Thursday night to Tuesday night. Actually, we just dropped her off at the airport! I miss her already because she was always hugging me and kissing me and telling my how much she loves me. She also loved giving me baths, so I got to have bathtub playtime like twice a day. Grandma's the best!

On Friday, we went on an adventure to Chinatown and Soho. We took the train to the city, which was really cool. That picture above is on the train, of me and bà ngoại -- that's how you say grandma in Vietnamese... bà ngoại has been talking to me for the past four days in Vietnamese. I'm gonna be a bilingual baby! We ate lunch at a Chinese restaurant, where they had yummy different types of noodle soups. Mom and bà ngoại both got wontons in their soup and Aunt Betsy got duck. YUM! Then we walked around Soho and looked at the shops. By the end of the day, we were all sooo worn out.

But that was nothing compared to how worn out we were after our trip to the New York Botanical Garden on Saturday! We spent the entire day walking around looking at pretty flowers and plants. The place was huge! There were different areas with different types of forests and plants from different places.

That's mom and I inside the plant conservatory building. Inside, they divided the building into a walking tour of different plant environments. We walked from the rain forest to the desert, it sure was weird. One second it was really humid, and the next it was hot and dry!

Like I said, it was such a long day, sometimes mom had to put me in the stroller to take a quick nap. But I saw tons of cool flowers and plants from different parts of the world. Maybe I will have a green thumb like dad and be able to have my own garden one day.

Sunday, we ate dim sum, and then mom, bà ngoại, and aunt Betsy went to a Beatles tribute Broadway show. I spent the day with Dad and we walked around Times Square. I'm a real New York baby! The next day was Fourth of July, so we all went to our friends' Ann and Jose's BBQ. Everyone was super nice and talked to me a lot, so I made some really great friends. They made lots of yummy and healthy foods like salmon kabobs with asparagus and bell pepper, Korean style chicken, grilled mushrooms, and guacamole. Mom and Dad made vegan 7 layer dip for the party, and it was a huge hit.

After the party, we went down to the Hudson River to see the Macy's fireworks show. It was really cool! There were so many different colors and shapes in the sky, and we managed to get a really good spot even with all the people around. It was my very first time seeing fireworks, and they were larger than life.

That me with bà ngoại right before we had to drive her to the airport. She was really sad to go because of all the adventures we had, but I'm sure I will see her soon. Now that she's gone though, I guess the fun is over! Back to the daily grind.... boy it sure is tough to be a baby.

Dr. Murphy, Month #4

Yesterday I went to Dr. Murphy again for my very last newborn appointment. It was a little bit scary because I got three shots, plus some medicine, but Dr. Murphy is super nice! The only bad thing was that a side effect of one of the shots was a fever. I had to spend all of today in bed napping because my temperature was high and I was super cranky. But the upside of being sick is that I got to spend all day relaxing with my Aunt Betsy!

Dr. Murphy also told me that I'm in the 75th percentile for weight and head size, and--get this-- the 95th percentile for height! I'm a model right now, but who knows, maybe my career will last way longer than infancy! Here are photos from my latest photo shoot... most of them are artfully nude, but in some I am wearing a Fendi dress my Aunt Patti who lives in Milan gave me. Maybe when the Fendi representatives see this, they will ask me to be their poster girl.

My new favorite trick is putting my entire fist in my mouth... it's pretty impressive:

And this is how I felt after getting those shots:

Well, til next time.... smell ya later! Love, Bella
